Summertime Update: Nagging Casey Anthony Trial Details
To that end, I just re-read Ann Rule’s “Green River Running Red” partly because I ran across it as I was sorting books and partly because many of the victims were “dry bones cases.” Many of the “dry bones” cases were similar as to cause of death in which no evidence could be found on the bones. Green River victims died due to ligature and manual strangulation by Gary Ridgway although Caylee Anthony was most likely suffocated by duct tape. Not much to extrapolate there; the circumstances were entirely different. What this really calls for is a book to be written by Vincent Bugliosi, whom attorney Alan Dershowitz calls the best prosecutor ever. He has a way of connecting the dots in a convincing way. Although I thought the prosecution’s closing arguments were good, apparently some intelligent people did not. That sets me off wondering what a good, convincing closing argument is. In that light, let’s check out his closing arguments for the Charles Manson case. In this case trial testimony is referenced in smaller print to the actual closing argument. It’s brilliant.
